To the Valegate Community,

One of the core principles we’ve upheld since the beginning is transparency—being honest with our community, even when the news isn't easy to share.

From time to time, that commitment requires making difficult decisions in the interest of Valegate’s long-term stability and growth. This is one of those times.

Every server and gamemode we run comes with ongoing costs—not just financial, but also in terms of time, development, and moderation. These resources are finite, and it's important that we allocate them in ways that best serve the wider community.

Unfortunately, the Civilization server has not seen the activity or engagement needed to justify the level of support it requires. Despite the efforts of both myself and the admin team, it just isn’t working. The decline has continued over time, and it's become clear that the resources could be better used elsewhere within the network.

After careful consideration, I’ve made the decision to take the Civilization server offline. This is not a decision I take lightly, but it is one I believe is necessary to ensure that Valegate remains focused, sustainable, and centered around the experiences our players enjoy most.

As for a potential successor to Civilization, I want to make no promises at this time. We need to assess carefully how to move forward and what opportunities make the most sense for the community and the network as a whole.

Myself and the admin team will be taking a few days to strategize the next steps, including how best to reallocate resources and explore future opportunities for the community. A member of the team will follow up with more information as soon as we're able to.

Please note that during this period, both the Slimefun and Skyblock servers will remain fully available and unaffected. These gamemodes continue to thrive, and we encourage you to continue enjoying them as we move forward together.

In the coming weeks, you may also notice some changes to our staff team and Discord structure as we prepare to move forward with a more focused and refined direction for the network. I want to be honest—our staff team has collectively fallen short lately. In many cases, staff have not been present, and in some instances, not engaging at all. This is something I take full responsibility for, and it’s a situation I’m fully committed to addressing. These changes are part of a broader effort to rebuild stronger leadership, improve accountability, and create a better experience for everyone in the Valegate community.
